Do you know what “Branding” is?

Branding is arguably the MOST important aspect of a business. It identifies you to your customers.
Without branding you would be drinking just another soda, and driving a car, not experiencing a BMW with a cold Coke in the cup holder. Brand brings customers to you already primed with the knowledge of who you are, and what you are about.

Building a brand is not just making a catchy phrase, or a collection of letters graphically made to look cool. Taking Coca-Cola as an example, They have over the years used Direct Marketing, Give-A-Ways, multi-product cross-branding to achieve maximum brand recognition.

Here are a few ideas to help you figure out what you need to do to begin Branding your business:

consistency : Keep your logo, brand colors (pallet), tag line, website, and printed materials all in the same vein.

Visual impact: Humans are a visual creature…we remember what we see before words. Make sure your marketing materials are set up to impact your target audience between the eyes!

keep it fresh : Updating your brand to stay with the times is a “MUST DO”. The post card you sent out in 1996 is not going to be as relevant to today’s customers, as it was then. Make sure you keep it up to date, and consistent with your core beliefs.

Uniforms : You may want to look into uniforms for your employees. Seriously. There is a reason that larger companies have uniforms, wal-mart, McDonalds, Larger car Dealers….Brand recognition. If you stay in their eyes, you stay in their minds.

Goals : Setting goals in business is not a new thing. You may have daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, and 5 year goals for your business. Your marketing must stay consistent with those goals, with brand recognition kept in focus.

If you can keep a few of these things in mind when looking to Brand or re-brand your business, you will be able to better utilize your resources in order to raise your brand recognition to an all new level.
